Join us at Foxearth Fishery in July 2024, for an exciting weekend of fishing to raise money for Tackling Minds! The weekend comprises of a 24 hour fishing match, with 12 pegs up for grabs available to personal as well as corporate sponsors, as well as a ‘fishing open day’ available to the public, with the aim of raising awareness of the mental health benefits of fishing.
Event Programme
The event will take place on the 5th, 6th and 7th July 2024, at Foxearth Fishery located in Suffolk.
Friday 5th July, 2024
The day begins at 10am, when pegs will be drawn for the lake. An opening speech will be given by Tackling Minds’ founder David Lyons and Stephen Border. Once fishing commences, it will continue until Saturday lunchtime.
Saturday 6th July, 2024
The fishery will open to the public, inviting people to try their hands at fishing and discover the mental health benefits of fishing first-hand. This will be a great opportunity for people to meet David along with the rest of the Tackling Minds team! Once fishing ends, a prize-giving ceremony will be held, and prizes will be given out for both the most number of fish, as well as the biggest fish caught.
On Saturday evening, Nethergate Brewery will be hosting a BBQ, and the bar will be open for drinks. The barbecue is free of charge for sponsors and Tackling Minds staff members.
Sunday 7th July
The venue will remain open to anglers until 3pm on Sunday afternoon.
Sponsor a Peg
In total, 12 pegs will be available on the main lake, for those wishing to sponsor a peg. The proceeds from these sponsored pegs go directly to Tackling Minds, and will be used to spread the mental health benefits of fishing to an ever-growing number of participants. Each sponsor who participates will be featured on social media, as well as a film which will be filmed and produced throughout the weekend.
